Identifying and Supporting Career Tracks Through the Psychology Major
Abstract
This project is designed to improve curricular planning for Psychology majors. Our goal is to obtain much-needed data on the curricular pathways our students take through the major, and how they use these pathways to support their career aspirations. This will allow us to develop a set of guideposts through our major that capture major subpopulations of student interests’ and career aspirations/outcomes. We will use these guideposts to disseminate personalized information on our department website and tailored email announcements, individualize our advising to best prepare our students to achieve their career aspirations, and enhance the fit between the portfolio of courses we offer and the aspirations of our majors.
